How To Register Employee Provident Fund Complaint?

Employee Provident Fund or EPF is an investment option, which helps salaried people save money for retirement.  Under this scheme, both employee and employer contribute towards employee EPF account. Employee contribution is deducted from the employee's salary and employer makes an equal contribution. Employee Provident Fund is managed by the Employee Provident Fund Organization or EPFO.

As a member of the EPF scheme, if you have any questions regarding EPF transfer, withdrawal, updation of details or complaints against your employer vis-a-vis EPF, you can go to EPF I Grievance Management System and lodge your complaint.

On this website, members can lodge complaints and also track the status. The timeline provided for resolving the complaint is a maximum of 30 days. It is mandatory to have a UAN number to file a complaint on this website.

Following issues can be registered with the EPF grievance website:

1. Withdrawal or final settlement of employee provident fund.

2. Final settlement of pension.

3. An issue with the EPF balance.

4. In case the cheque is returned or misplaced.

5. Transfer of PF Accumulation

6. Payment of insurance benefit

7. Any other issues.

How to lodge EPF complaint with EPF i Grievance Management System?

  • To file a complaint, you must first visit EPF i Grievance Management System and click on "Register Grievance". 
  • Once you click on "Register Grievances", you will be provided with 4 options, PF member, EPS Pensioner, Employer and Others. You must select PF members and enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) and the Security Code.
  • After you provide your UAN number, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and email ID. As soon as you enter the OTP, you will be asked to provide personal details.
  • Personal details which you must provide are gender, address for communication, pincode, country, state, and alternative contact number.
  • Once you are done providing personal detail, you will be asked to provide grievance details.
  • Under the grievance details, you will be asked to select the type of grievances that you want to register, from the drop down menu. Once you are done selecting the grievance category, you must give a brief of grievances and upload the supporting documents. Supporting documents are not mandatory; you can upload only if you have them.
  • Once the complaint is filed, you will be provided with a unique registration number. Using this number you can track the status of your complaint.
  • The complaint posted by you will be verified by the EPFO and sent to the relevant party for resolution. Normally it takes 15-30 days for resolving the complaint.
  • You are allowed to send reminders using the registration number.
