You can find many cases of cyber stalking across the World and it is most common among young adults and teenagers. Under cyber stalking, online activities of victims are monitored by cybercriminals for the purpose of harassing them. Criminals harass victims using electronic communication, such as an e-mail or instant messaging.

4. Ransomware

Ransomware is a type of cybercrime where fraudsters use malicious software to threaten victims. Victims will be threatened saying their data will be published, or they will lose access to their computer system if they do not pay the ransom.  The main intention of ransomware is to collect money from victims and usually, victims will be asked to pay up in Bitcoins. Unlike other cybercrimes, in case of ransomware, victims will be notified that the system has been hacked and they will also be given instructions on how to recover from the attack on paying some money.

Malicious software which is also known as Malware, has different forms. Malware includes computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses and spyware. Some malware targets personal financial information, by installing key loggers on your computers. Malware samples are installed in users system through various methods. You can protect your system from malicious software by installing a good antivirus.

6. Identity theft and Credit Card Fraud

Fraudsters can do a lot of things with your identity. Under identity theft, fraudsters steal your personal information and by using this information, they apply for a personal loan, two wheeler loan or a credit card with a bank. To protect yourself from identity theft, make sure not to provide too many information on social media and other websites. Also, do not reveal personal information to anyone over the phone.
