Many people lose their personal belongings such as mobile phones, wallets, documents and so on. But, not everyone goes to the police station to lodge a complaint. Now, people in Bengaluru can easily report the loss of their personal belongings through the e-Lost app. This system eliminates the need of visiting the police station.
This app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and the App Store. There is also a web version of this app, where complaints can be lodged.
How does this app work?
Download the e-Lost app and login with your email id. Then, register the lost item in your report. To register the report you need to enter your name, address, place of occurrence, dates and times between when the incident took place, and some brief facts. After entering all such information, you will be redirected to the new page where you will be shown some categories from which you have to select one of them. After this, your lost report will be generated and acknowledged. You can download the PDF form and take a print out of it. If you have any queries while registering the report, you can go to the FAQ section.

According to the latest tweet made by the Bengaluru police, 300 mobile phones have been traced and returned to owners. This is based on the complaint received by them on the e-Lost app.
The purpose of launching this app is to help people get back their lost personal belongings. Usually, people do not go to the police station to lodge a complaint, as they fear the loss of small items will be too much of a hassle. In such cases, e-Lost app will be helpful to lodge a complaint.
