SEBI launches mobile app to help investors lodge complaints

SEBI has come up with a new facility for the convenience of the investors. In an effort to improve the ease of doing business; SEBI has recently launched a mobile application for lodging investor grievances.

If investors want to raise a complaint against their investment advisor or want to raise a grievance against their mutual fund house, this app launched by SEBI is really helpful. Using this app, investor can file a complaint against mutual funds, listed companies or any other registered intermediaries. This app is known as  'Sebi SCORES', and it is available on both iOS and Android platforms.

SCORES refers to SEBI Complaints Redressal System. Before the 'Sebi SCORES' app was launched; there was a SCORES platform on the Internet where investors were allowed to lodge a complaint.  The SCORES App has all the features of SCORES which are currently available electronically and investors can file their complaints.

What is the SEBI SCORES app?

SEBI SCORES is a mobile app launched by SEBI which helps investors file a complaint. Complaintfiled by investors via this app are directly lodged on the SCORES system. Once the complaint is filed; it will be taken up with the concerned entity and monitored continuously.

It is very easy to file a complaint using the SEBI SCORES app as investors can access the app through their mobile phones. Apart from filing a complaint, investors can also track the status of the complaint using this app.

How to file complaints on SEBI SCORES?

Sebi SCORES app is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Once this app is downloaded; investors must register for the service. While registering they must provide their PAN and Mobile number.

There are several categories under which complaints can be lodged; they are mutual funds, depository participants, listed companies and so on. Investors can file a complaint against an investment advisor, research analyst, and stockbrokers.

Investors are allowed to check the status of any company; primarily those operating as collective investment schemes. This helps investors know the details of the company immediately.

Once the investor files a complaint after the registration process; he will receive an acknowledgment through SMS and email on his registered mobile number and e-mail ID. The acknowledgment is sent for each complaint filed on the app.
