Man falls prey to online car deal, ‘duped’ of Rs 3.6 lakh

In an online fraud, a man was allegedly duped of Rs 3.61 lakh which he had paid for purchasing a second-hand car. According to Cyber Crime Inspector, the victim recently saw an advertisement for sale of a second-hand car with a price tag of Rs 3.80 lakh on a website. He allegedly contacted the ‘seller’ on the phone number given on the portal. The victim allegedly met the person and checked the condition of the car and deposited Rs 3.61 lakh in two installments in the account of the ‘seller. Later, the victim enquired about the delivery of the car and the ‘seller’ told him that there was some problem and he would deliver the vehicle the next day. But, he never happened.
